Accepting Blame

I was very annoyed with Obama sticking-by the Daschle nomination for as long as he did (though I guess, in fairness, it was only a few days), but I give him huge props for saying, after Daschle withdrew, that he had screwed up -- rather than simply blaming the whole affair on "the process" or "the media."

This is the kind of leadership that I really think our country needs - in this one episode, he has personalized governance // the political process in a way that, so often, it seems like politicians try to avoid. Big props.

43. What do the different religions teach about how best to accept blame for mistakes? I guess Christianity focuses on the need to ask for forgiveness ("forgive us our trespasses...") - did Jesus have any parables about people who had screwed up and then addressed their mistakes in a particular way?
