Charlottesville City Council - Budget for 2010
An article by Rachana Dixit in the Daily Progress says that a reduced budget was introduced at last night's Charlottesville City Council meeting:
"Reflecting the economic difficulties, [Gary] O’Connell is recommending that next fiscal year’s budget tally roughly $139.8 million, down from the current $141 million budget, or a total decrease of about 0.9 percent."
The article predicts that the real estate tax rate will remain the same, at 95 cents per $100 of assessed value.
83. Kristin Szakos announced her candidacy for the Democratic nomination for one of the two City Council slots coming open in 2009. Will either or both of Dave Norris and Julian Taliaferro decide not to run for reelection?
