The news has been absolutely inundated with discussions of Rush Limbaugh this past week -- it's definitely the most he has been in the news since the late 1990's and the Clinton impeachment controversy.
I guess this all started when Limbaugh (1) said, on several occasions, that he is hoping Obama fails and (2) argued that -- by hoping for such failure -- he was bravely defying the conventional wisdom which prohibits hoping for the first black President to fail.
This past week he gave a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference and the response - from both sides of the aisle - has been a ridiculously overwrought examination of whether he is the "leader" of the Republican Party.
I am unclear why the Obama Administration is focusing so much on Limbaugh (here's a piece in the Washington Post today by David Plouffe), but I assume that they want to set him up as a 'bogey-man' in the same way that the Republicans frequently try to set up Hillary and/or Nancy Pelosi as bogey-women -- by focusing all the attention on one or two people (caricatured as the embodiment of all that is wrong with America), each party gives their base someone on whom to focus their distrust (and venom).
117. What's the current status of Air America Radio? I think last year they were going bankrupt -- are they still broadcasting? There are definitely still a number of liberal talk shows on AM 1450, but are these Air America shows?
