Dixit says that the current plan is for approximately 74,000 square feet of commercial space and 24,000 of residential (it sounds like, as plans have progressed, the proportion of residential space has gone down).
The article includes a good analysis/explanation for last year's sale, by the City, of approximately half an acre which will become part of the project:
"Last year, most councilors supported selling the city’s acreage because doing so would require a rezoning for Southern Development’s project, and therefore require more governmental oversight."In other City development news, the Gleason Building has gone up quite quickly this spring and summer. It's larger than I anticipated, but several articles I've read recently say that the units are selling.
