ALAS, I received an e-mail this evening from the Washington Post letting me know that I was not chosen as a finalist for the "Next Great Pundit" contest.I googled some of the finalists and they sound like an incredibly impressive lot, so I can't be too disappointed!! Plan B is to revise my piece (at this point it's only 400 words, per the contest requirement) and submit it to some of the local papers. It will be fun to follow the contest and check out the various perspectives -- and, even more so, the writing styles. Sounds like the Post is going to run profiles of the ten finalists on Sunday.
