Suggestions for the Use of Stimulus Money

Brian McNeill has an article in today's Daily Progress in which he lists suggestions that have been made on Tim Kaine's new website soliciting ideas for Virginia's use of its portion of the stimulus money.

As you'd guess, some of the ideas are pretty hilarious; this one made me laugh out loud (particularly the mention of wii parties):

"No. 515: Giant Friggin Map: I think we should build a giant friggin map of Virginia. Like, a life sized map. I know what you are thinking, where would we store this giant map of virgina since it will be as big as virgina we won’t have anywhere to store it. Well, how about Maryland, no one likes Maryland except for my buddy Sung. Maybe we could cut a hole out of the map so he could still live in his apartment and have wii parties."

As a follow-up to question #60 from yesterday, the stock market definitely did not bounce yesterday following news of agreement on the stimulus package -- most indices went down a couple percent, although they rebounded some at the end of the day.
